Rules

Rules apply to the 21km and 10km races

Licences and race numbers

  • The official race number must be worn unaltered on the FRONT of the participants vest.
  • Licensed runners must wear club colours and their 2012 licence number on the back of their vests. Clubs must be affiliated to ASA.
  • Unlicensed runners must wear a temporary licence on the back of their vests. It will be included in their race package.

Age categories

  • Entrants for the 21km must be at least 16 years of age on race day.
  • Entrants for the 10km must be at least 15 years of age on race day.

General rules

  • The races are run according to the rules of WPA and ASA.
  • Personal seconding will not be allowed.
  • Water and coke tables will be situated approximately every 3km along the race route.
  • Age group ID tags must be worn on the back and front of vests of athletes competing for category prizes.
  • Age category tags may be purchased at registration.
  • Participants may enter the age category corresponding to their chronological age or any younger category down to senior.

Prizes

  • In addition to open prizes, participants will only be eligible for an age category prize in the age category they enter. Corresponding numerical age category tags must be worn on the front and back of the vest.
  • Temporary licensed participants are eligible for age category prizes provided they enter the relevant age group, wear the appropriate age tag and provide proof of age.
  • Juniors (born 1993 or later) must wear ‘J’ tags to qualify for age group prizes.
  • Juniors will count towards the senior team prize.
  • Club colours must be worn to qualify for team prizes.
  • Participants will qualify for age category team prizes based on the individual age category they enter (with corresponding age category tags). Older participants qualify for a younger team only if there is no team competition for their specific age category.
